73600 Saint-Marcel, France
This is a pretty 4-bedroom house, built in 1979, in a little village between Moûtiers and Aime. It is a short drive into Aime and just further up is the lovely resort of Montalbert and the link into La Plagne and Paradiski.
The property has approximately 95 m² of living space with a further 20 m² under 1.80 m in height. It comprises:
on the ground floor an entrance hall with storage, a separate fully fitted kitchen, a living room with a fireplace and patio doors out to the back garden, and a separate WC.
On the first floor there are 3 double bedrooms – each with a double wardrobe – a bathroom and a shower room with a WC.
On the top floor under the eaves there is a large room that’s used as a guest bedroom and an office. There are storage cupboards at each end of the room and also on the landing.
Other features of the property include an attractive front garden with stairs down to the basement where there is a large 20m² cellar with a utility room, a boiler room and even more storage space. There is also a back garden with a terrace and a big shed. Both gardens have great views of the mountainside. The property also includes 2 garages and there is a communal parking area right next to these for visitors.
The current owners bought the house from new and have maintained it to a very high standard since that time.
The village is below Montalbert, which is a family friendly ski resort with ski lifts providing access to La Plagne and Paradiski. The lifts also operate in the summer so it’s easy to take advantage of all the fabulous activities available, like paragliding, biking, mountain or country walking etc.
La Plagne is one of the largest and most famous ski resorts in Europe. It has more than 120 ski runs catering for all levels of ability. It is also linked to the popular resort of les Arcs by cable car, so both resorts are within a few minutes of each other.
All of the ten villages that comprise La Plagne have good access to one another and contain many other activities aside from skiing and snowboarding. These include bowling, walking trails, hang-gliding, quad biking, gym/fitness training, paint balling and even bobsleighing. Après ski is provided by a multitude of restaurants, bars and nightspots, which offer something for everyone.
The closest international airports are at Lyon and Geneva, with Chambéry an option during the alpine season.
Eurostar offers a direct train service to Bourg St Maurice or Moûtiers, which are both easily accessible. There are excellent road links to all villages in the resort.
