St Martin de Belleville is a picture-postcard village resort that provides a charming and peaceful base from which to explore the 3 Valleys ski area. It is a traditional Savoyard village with wood and stone buildings, a church that is floodlit at night and a small square. From the village there is an eight-person gondola, which provides a direct link to the ridge that overlooks the valley of Méribel on one side and les Ménuires and Val Thorens on the other. There are a number of friendly bars and quality restaurants in the village and a couple of nightspots too.
The TGV station is in Moûtiers and the “snow train” takes about 30 minutes from there to reach the village. The nearest international airports are just over 2 hours away in Geneva and Grenoble, with the seasonal airport in Chambéry an hours ride away.
